When you’re selling your home, viewing is one of the most important stages in the process. Selling today means traditional showings, along with online viewings. Online viewings are increasingly becoming an important part of promoting your home and increasing interest. Today, most buyers will not buy a home unless they’ve first viewed it at least once.

The rooms that are usually the most important for a viewing are the living room and kitchen. These are the most often used, visible, and social spaces of any home. This is where many buyers make their final decision to buy the home or not. With this in mind, it’s important to showcase the best features of these spaces.

For instance, if your living room has a fireplace, this is usually the focal point of the room. And fireplaces are still popular with homebuyers. No matter what time of the year the viewing will be held, make sure the fireplace is clean. You may consider placing a basket of logs near the hearth and using attractive elements (such as candles and artwork) on the mantle. In addition, a large picture or mirror above the fireplace can bring more attention to this part of the room.

2. Special Small Spaces

Small rooms and spaces are also important during a home viewing. So, try to make the space beautiful and inviting. For instance, you may want to consider turning a spare bedroom into a home office. Home offices are also high on the homebuyer’s list of wants! Other ideas are to create a guest room, hobby room, and more.

If you choose to turn that unused space into a home office, make sure to use furniture that’s size for adults, not children. The space should be usable and made to reflect how it could be used by a homebuyer.
